Sim Racing Time Attack Series
If you're one of our closer followers, you might remember that we already tried our first steps into the Sim Racing world during the winter of 2022/23 with our GP Winter Cup. A fully fledged Sim Racing Championship, with several rounds to make the "Track Day Free" time of the year a bit easier to bear.
Unfortunately, this project never really came to life, as we simply weren't able to get enough participants lined up. In our opinion, this was due to a variety of reasons, starting from not putting in the necessary effort this takes to spread the word and get the traction we needed to maybe going too complex way too early.
We're not giving up though! As we're still somewhat drawn to the idea getting a little competition going for all of you GP Days Track Day drivers, offer a space to get together when no Track Days are happening and opening up our community we thought of something different.

The GP Days Sim Racing Time Attack Series
GP Days x Sim Racing is back, but this time with a more accessible concept! We're hosting a Time Attack Challenge where we'll visit 3 tracks during 6 weeks To get the competition going, This means you have the freedom to set the fastest laptime whenever you want without any schedule to stick to (a bit like our Track Day Open Pitlane concept!). We'll be of course awarding some prices. Let's dive into some details:
THE SIMULATION
To keep the whole series as accessible as possible, we'll be using Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC). While we're mostly using iRacing, we feel that cost is simply to high for a "relaxed" competition among friends (from buying necessary cars and tracks to hosting servers 24/7). On top of that, it gives us the possiblitly to get to know ACC a little bit better!
THE TRACKS
We only focus on the tracks which are included in the base package so the line up for our 6 week series will look like the following:
- Misano (Italy)
- Spa Francorchamps (Belgien) -> We're also hosting a GP Days Track Day here
- Nüburgring GP Circuit
Yes, it would have made sense to include Circuit Zandvoort (after all we also organise Track Days here) but as ACC is still using the old layout we felt it wouldn't really be worthwile
SCHEDULE
The GP Days Time Attack Series start on the 22nd of January.
- Week 1 | Misano: Friday, 26th January (6:00pm) - Friday,9th of February (5:00pm)
- Week 2 | Spa Francorchamps: Friday, 9th of Februrary (6:00pm) - Friday - 23rd Februrary (5:00pm)
- Week 3 | Nürburgring: Friday, 23rd, February (6:00pm) - Friday, 8th March (9:00pm)
THE CARS
We're going multi-class (well sort of). To keep it as accessible as possible, we'll be driving in
- the GT3 class (here the majority of cars is included in the basic game)
- as well as the GT4 class (this is a paid add-on)
At the start of the series, you will have to decide in which cars you want to compete for the prizes! Of course you can still partiicpate in both classes!
THE CONCEPT
The innaugural series will last for 6 weeks and we'll switch track every 2 weeks. Points will be awareded for TOP-10 places.
We'll be using the Formula 1 points system for our ranking:
- 1st place: 25 points
- 2nd place: 18 points
- 3rd place: 15 points
- 4th place: 12 points
- 5th place: 10 points
- 6th place: 8 points
- 7th place: 6 points
- 8th place: 4 points
- 9th place: 2 points
- 10th place: 1 point
We'll publish the results after each round so you can follow-up on where you stand.
The GP Days Sim Racing Time Attack Series is open for everyone who enjoys sim racing and motorsports and participation is of course for free! Just fire up your PC and get going!
Please note that to make the series count and ranking to be official, we need a minimum of 20 participants for each round.

First and foremost we're doing this to have some fun during the winter season but isn't just better when there is a bit of competition and the possibility to get something out of doing countless laps and hunting for the best laptime?

For all communication regarding the time attack challenge, we'll be using our Discord Server where we'll also setup a voice channel so everyone who's driving out on track can communicate with others (if they want to!).
