A Season Opener at Spa to Remember

The 2026 season opener couldn’t have been any crazier – and we mean that in the best possible way. Our trackday on March 26 at Spa‑Francorchamps challenged drivers, team, and organisation alike, and that’s exactly what made it a day nobody will forget anytime soon.

The journey on Wednesday was completely relaxed at first – almost too relaxed, as it turned out. Until around 6:00 PM, the temperature gauge still showed 10°C, with no hint of winter whatsoever.

After arriving, we set up our registration box as usual and spoke to our contact at the circuit. All weather forecasts had predicted heavy snowfall overnight, but the on‑site assessment was clear: operations would continue as normal, and there would be regular driving during the day. No reason to worry. To be honest though – a few worries still lingered.

About an hour later, everything changed completely. When we looked out of the garage, heavy, dense snowfall had started. Within a very short time, around 10 cm of snow had fallen – and it kept coming.

No one at the circuit could be reached anymore, while emails and WhatsApp groups were buzzing. Everyone wanted to know what would happen next, and the community didn’t disappoint: videos of “sledding scenes” from Spa were doing the rounds. Our honest answer was simple – we didn’t know yet ourselves.

On the morning of the trackday, the scenery was still wintry. Roads were clear, but the sight of a snow‑covered Circuit de Spa‑Francorchamps was something else entirely. The track itself, however, was perfectly cleared, clean, and ready to ride. Honestly, the setting could hardly have been more beautiful.

We’re incredibly grateful for the trust our participants showed: despite the forecasts, almost everyone made the trip – and was rewarded with an on‑schedule start.

Radiators and heated tables were in full use throughout the day. Our registration box became the heart of the event – warm, plenty of coffee, and a few Belgian waffles made it the perfect place for proper petrol talk. The mood? Despite snow, fog, and weather chaos: absolutely fantastic.

We’ve seen a lot over the years, but what followed was new even for us: Sunshine and a drying racing line - shortly after, snow again and dense clouds --> this constant change accompanied us throughout the entire day.

At one point, we had to close the track for about 30–45 minutes: snow, fog, zero visibility. Anyone who knows us knows this very well – safety first. Apart from that, the trackday ran extremely smoothly, and Dennis captured images that we probably won’t see again anytime soon.

On site were Falk, Leyla, and Ulli – and once again this year, we had the perfect coaching support with Florian Böhnisch, founder of RaceTrack‑Coach. Especially for track newcomers who had booked Flo’s coaching, his input under these conditions was absolutely invaluable: calm, precise, safe. Exactly what you need at 2°C and constantly changing grip levels.

Catering and the restaurant at Spa were, as always, perfectly organised. The circuit itself remains a highlight for us year after year – not least because, just like every time, this event was completely sold out.

All in all, it was a very demanding – but even more rewarding – start to the season. Exactly the kind of day we do this for. The conditions challenged the entire team to the limit but offered experiences that no perfect spring day ever could. Our photographer Dennis and videographer Chris captured everything perfectly. Spa in the snow is something truly special, and we can’t wait to show you the images.

Thank you to everyone who was part of it. You are the reason why March 26, 2026 was a trackday we’ll never forget!
